| FOXSPORTS.COM INTRODUCES COMMISSIONER SERVICE |
| By Greg Ambrosius |
| FoxSports.com has entered the commissioner side of the fantasy sports industry with the introduction of its first fantasy basketball service. The commissioner service will likely be a pay model - with league fees in the $100 range - although company officials are still working on the final plans. Commissioner tools will also be available for hockey by the NHL's mid-season and fantasy-leaguers can likely look for those same tools to be available in 2002 for baseball and football.

| ROTOWIRE.COM GOES TO PAY MODEL FOR FANTASY NEWS |
| By Greg Ambrosius |
| One of the pioneers in the free model for fantasy sports news and services has admitted that it's time to change the business model. RotoWire.com founder Peter Schoenke, who started RotoNews in 1997 as a free fantasy sports information and commissioner service, has conceded that the free model no longer works in this industry and has changed his service to a pay model. "Nobody has been a bigger advocate of the free model over the last four or five years than I have. You could say that I started the free revolution in fantasy sports," said Schoenke, whose company was sold to Broadband Sports in 1999 and then was a casualty of Broadband going bankrupt in February 2001. "But at the end of the day, the dollars aren't there, so we have to change. I think we're leading the trend here and I predict that everyone is going to either go completely pay or pull back a lot of their free features and services very soon."

| By Greg Ambrosius |
| Now that Michael Jordan has proven that he still has the potential to be a dominant force on the basketball court - Friday's 41 point outburst and Tuesday's 27 point, 10 rebound performance certainly proved that - has that helped his value in fantasy basketball leagues across the country? With many leagues expected to draft in the next 7-10 days, watching Jordan is tops on everyone's game plan. For the record, few online services or contests have changed their opinions of Jordan, leaving him ranked around 18th overall.
